Sisters and Brothers:
Your union is hitting the road this summer in the run-up to the federal election, October 19th. Now is a crucial time for us and for our future. The Stephen Harper government has unleashed unprecedented attacks against postal workers and the service we provide.
We have launched a cross-country Caravan to rally our members for the election, starting today in Cape Spear, Newfoundland, Canada’s easternmost point. We will bring the Save Canada Post campaign into communities across the country. We will go from the east coast to the west coast and back again, stopping in many different workplaces and communities, and holding public meetings along the way. On this tour, we expect to document stories and testimonials, publicize our issues and bring members together, face-to-face.
The itinerary is still being developed but you can check savecanadapost.ca and our Facebook and Twitter feeds for updates to see if the Caravan is coming your way, and to see photos and messages from the tour.
The stops for this week are as follows:
Wednesday, July 15th
Friday July 17th
Saturday July 18th
Sunday July 19th
Monday July 20th
Conservatives cannot run and cannot hide from the mess they have created. We will ensure that everyone knows exactly where the blame lies for these cuts. We need each other now more than ever. Please get involved and fight for your union, your public services and your job.
